This is what I have done so far. However I may not have enough fabric to complete the bottom border. I want to make it bigger so it's possible I can come up with something else to put there.

Any suggestions?

Some of you asked me what the pattern was and it's from A Galaxy of Stars, Starry Path - Month 6 (block of the month) by Jinny Beyer Palette, Basic Realities 1999.

I shrunk it down to 72% and this was a paper piecing project. I used June Tailor's Foundation Paper and a very small stitch as recommended. However, it was difficult to pull off and I am a little reluctant to do another project with either this foundation paper or paper piecing in general. This block only had 16 pieces so I can only imagine if I were to have done one of the star blocks in a book I have with nearly 142 pieces per block!

This is my own creation so it was a little frustrating not to have the back up of a pattern to follow. It's not fancy, but I just wanted to make something patriotic since the anniversary of 9/11 is approaching. I nearly lost my best friend during this time so I am grateful he made it out of the 2nd tower alive.

What would you put towards the bottom of this quilt?

What would you add to the bottom of this quilt?
