Had glue from piecing stuck to the iron it was quite a mess, nothing seemed to work then I remembered the salt I heated the iron then rubbed it in the salt which I had put on baking paper on my bread board. rubbed with a circular motion in the salt and after a while the goo started to come off bonded to the salt every so often I gave the Iron a wipe down with damp cloth then repeat the process took about 20mins. word of warning if iron is teflon or non stick coated this process will take the coating off.
