Except my hermaphroditic one! His name is Hermie for short! Has all the rooster characteristics but doesn't crow (one of the hens does that!) or mount the girls and will sit on their eggs for hours! *sigh*
My neighbor would love it if I had a roo that didn't crow :mrgreen:

I went a little crazy with my incubator, this spring, and now have more than 20 young roos waiting for their day to visit freezer camp --and they are all crowing. Hermie sure is handsome. Is he a black australorp? They are such a beautiful breed.
Good eye for chickens! Went for another couple of Black Jersey Giants but had to settle for the Australorps. They are my backyard buddies.

He may not crow, but my old hens sure are noisy! Giving the neighbor eggs keeps THEM from crowing too!
