I needed to make a large number on half square triangles so I decided to use the new method that was talked about on Missouri Star Quilt Company where you sew around a square on all four sided and then cut across from corner to corner. It sounded really good and looked great on the tutorial, but I guess I was not careful enough with the hypothenuse(long side) not being on the straight of grain. I had a mess to say the least. If you decided to use this method maybe starching is the answer. I ended up using the Fons & Porter Half and Quarter Ruler and they turned out great. The two long sided are on the straight of grain.
I will post my tablerunner when it is finished. Happy Quilting!
