I've used Thangles for 1/2 sq triangles. You pin the paper to the block, dsew on the dotted line and cut on the solid line. The paper stabilizes sewing on the bias, and you press with the paper on, let cool and rip the paper off. Comes in about 4 or 5 different sizes.
