Well, I think its a very pretty block when finished. It just has lots of little tiny pieces that you have to fiddle with it to make sure they line up. I had a little problem with the tri also, but only because I was using more than 2 fabrics.
You'll get it finished up and it will be a beauty...there is that large space for your fussy cutting!
