GLAD you changed the size from 5" to 8" square. I didn't think about it at first but just picked up a 5" charm and there would be NO WAY I could take anything out of the oven with a 5" potholder.
Question: if we don't use 100% cotton fabric on the outside, what would we use? Like you said polyester would melt.
E.T.A. - not 100% cotton but one can use denim or towels?
