The throat area looks about the same as that on my Juki and I am told that it can accommodate up to a Queen, although I haven't tried that yet. I did see some queens that the lady that I bought her from had done on her. I do know that if you used a high loft batting you would run out of room, but with a low loft, you might end up with a very small quilting area by the end of the quilt. I am told that a machine like this is a learning tool and stepping stone to learn some of the techniques and that most folks move on to a long arm after 3-4 years.
