When I purchased my Janome 9000 year ago, the shop owner advised me that I must wait at least five minutes after turning the machine on before I turn it off. It's some sort of safety program. You don't say how many minutes passed before you tried to turn it back on, but this is something to keep in mind.
BTW, how do you like your 9000? I LOVE mine and wouldn't trade it in for the 10000, especially since I would have had to purchase a devise to use my 9000 embroidery memory cards. Lately I've been using the embroidery part to embellish the blocks I've made for the Row Robin exchange. Belles
