I have a Bernina 1090. It's one of the first computerized machines they made, but that computer part isn't so up in your face as the later models.
I've had mine since the mid-90s, and I have had no trouble with it. It's reliable and despite the attractions of the later models, I have no real reason to upgrade, save for that tempting larger space between the needle and the right body of the machine. Not worth a couple of thousand dollars to me.
I remember reading somewhere that someone who had a later model Bernina wouldn't ever give up her 1090. I wish I could remember or find the rest of it.
