Several years ago I went to a retreat and at the end of the day we gathered up all of our little scraps and thread ends. The larger pieces we just cut back and forth with the rotary cutter until they were very small. Then we drew a free hand picture on a piece of muslin, covered that with a piece of fusible web and then sprinkled those little snippets in the different areas. Cover everything with a pressing cloth and steam it until the web is gone. After that it could be FMQ if there are loose pieces. It actually was a lot of fun.
