I would use both in a barnyard quilt/ child's quilt.
The first would be backing, the second would be one of the light fabrics.
Children, especially infants, really go for the strong contrasting prints. I used something similar in a baby quilt for my boss when she had her first child. She said the baby REALLY loved the contrasting colors and brights.
