I had it in both hands. First the doc put me on antibiotics to fix the inflamation. then he told me to stop whatever I was doing with my hands. That meant typing, sewing, knitting etc. I was to get two sets of splints that go from the writst to my elbow almost.
I was to wear these at night. It was painfull and they tingled etc and I would hang my arms over the bed at night to get relief. Well I did everything he told me and did a research on the web for herbs that would also help. Once you understand that the in you wrist you have all these nerves, vein or tube like things and they all have to fit into this small tube. When the nerves get inflamed they swell and the tube gets tight and that is when the pain starts.
Mine got better and that was 10 years ago. I wore those splints 24/7 and had two set and washed one, wore one. I then proceeded to study what I did with my hands when I did my crafts and have, over time adjusted my motions. I practiced these with the splints on. I did everything with those splints. Because of this training, I now knit, paint type with my wrist perfectly unmoving. I still pay attention to make sure tho.
