Here's one I did - I took a wood shelf and drilled holes all along the front. I tapped in small wooden dowels about 2 inches high into the holes. I store my spray starch, basting spray, water bottle for my iron, etc., on the shelf and I put all of the oddly sized thread spools (1000 yd thread spools, denim thread, fuzzy thread, etc) on the dowels. I have a pegboard that I use for regular fashion thread but this keeps the specialty thread better organized and I can easily grab them. If you use a flat shelf, you can install hooks underneath for ribbons and stuff.
