The bobbin winder on my machine broke yesterday. Now I have to take mine in because with it broken my machine won't run. Blast these computerized machines sometimes...

What kind of machine do you have? My Elna 6500 has done that several times. I could get it off "bobbin winding" by inserting a small screw driver or something similar in the hole beside the pole that holds the bobbin when winding, and pushing toward the left. I had it worked on and thought it was fixed...did it again! I have to drive clear to Dallas to get it fixed and they charged me $125 the last time. I've discovered it's nice to have a back-up machine on hand. Now I just wind bobbins on it.
