I'm a bit dense. I don't understand what you mean by the shortest one. I am making all the braids the same length and then am going to trim the sides and join them until it is wide enough to fit the bed.

I appreciate everyone's input.
If they are all perfect, then there isn't a shorter one. It is best to make all of the braids and then lay them on top of each other to make sure. Remember, just very slight differences in stitching will make a difference when you are stitching so many pieces together.
