Cjomomma, I know how you feel. I have had stuff wadded up in the back of my closet a few times. Gives you a headache just to think about a 'dead' project.
I guess you could unsew the corner blocks, end up with a nice rectangle. Sandwich and bind it, and use it on the top of a table or something. Actually, it is very pretty and I think you have done a good job so far.
Can you tell her the dog ate it or something and just go buy something for her?
