Depends. I have had this happen. But when I had it quitled on a long arm, the puffy disappeared. YOu can take a chance. Even handquilting should take up teh slack. It is a beautiful quilt. Hope you work it out. YOu know Cathy MIller's song "You can Quilt that out". LOL
