On the day one of my cousins was born, one of our sows had 14 piglets !!!
So, mom, thinking how wonderful everything was going sent a note to the new mother and informed her that not only did Carolyn share a birthday with 14 piglets, but Uncle Gene was naming the biggest baby girl pig after Carolyn ...
The city-born new mother did NOT appreciate the compliment or the namesake (to say the least)
but, you know? When that girl cousin grew up, and my dad was beginning dementia, she would walk in after years of not seeing him, and say: I am the girl born on the same day as that pig had 14 piglets
and, Dad, KNEW !!! as a matter of fact, she was the first to recognize that Dad was having problems ... but <g> he NEVER forgot that pig, those piglets, or that baby girl ...
