These are some of the blocks I have for the carousel horse wall hanging I am making for my friends' 50th anniversary. I am naming it They Caught The Golden Ring. Or maybe The Gold Ring.. anyway, my DSIL used her embroidery machine to help me with the 2 blocks. There is a 9 patch to represent her 9 grandchildren; a block I designed called Memory Pond Garden; and to represent their family tree, a block I designed and appliqued using the Ying and Yang. I am now working on a friendship star and a card trick block.
I met this friend online in a card club, then after discovering we lived near one another, I designed and helped her plant a garden around a pond her family built in memory of one of her daughters who is deceased.
