I recently got EQ 7 for my birthday. I've had EQ 6 for awhile, and I used it, but didn't even begin to do all that it's capable of. So now I'm going through the instruction books paragraph by paragraph and following all the steps. Yes, it takes a lot of time, but if I can ever get it drilled into my thick skull, I think I may use the program to design actual quilts a lot more often. It's an amazing program, and it makes it so easy to try different options without making a committment!
