I say lose the guilt !! Give the pieces to a local quilt guild who would gladly finish it for a charity quilt someone would love to receive. Knowing it is going to a good home would release me from this lack of desire to finish it yourself. Then move forward and start a-new. Don't waste your time beating yourself up - Most quilters have run up against this same problem. Get going on a new project that you love for your BFF. Hope this helps !
