I used Crayola colored pencil, but most will work.

You really need to have some sort of idea of the finish look you want in order to have enough white space to fill in

I had roughly drawn out a quarter section on paper to check the fit before trimming, so I can add the border.

Complete the top as usual and layer with a heavy cotton batt. Spray baste with 505. I then used a washaway marker to draw the circle base for the wreath, circles for the flowers, swirls for the ribbons.

Get out a collection of thread that work with the fabrics and start quilting the shapes. When complete spray with water and block, leave to dry. Trim square, add the binding. Color in with pencils, paint over colored areas with fabric medium.

You can wash it gently
