If you are using 1/4" bias tape, just use a 4 mm double needle -- my avatar was sewn that way -- and is very easy to do. Just watch where you are going so that the line you just sewed down will be covered by the next stitching line, that way you dont have a million thread ends and a whole bunch of tie-offs.
