The other question is what happens when you have exactly the right fabric but not enough of it? That's why I dont stash.
Put very specific instructions in your will about who gets first dibs, who's second.......... and how to dispose of what's left. My DH (in this case, D is not for dear) will light a match ot my sewing room. I know. He burned tons of stuff of his dad's, including about a bushel of old ties that he wouldn't let me rescue.
