Well, it wasn't the cutter as much as the replacement blades that fit our fabric rotor cutters. Same theory except with the carpet cutter your whole hand covers the tool, and with the rotor cutters for fabric, you have a handle. If you can see how to cut on the lines, the carpet cutter might be more controlled. I'm a jiggler and wiggler, lol. It's beginning to sound better and better. lol I didn't read the package for the carpet cutter, so I don't know anything about it, except I saw them hanging beside the blades. Blessings, Ruth
