He's Chico, like Spanish Chico. My son knew someone with a boxer named Chico before, and it just fits him! I would LOVE to see your Chihuahua/Boxer mix! We have Chihuahuas and Boxers, and we always wondered what a mix of those two would look like, LOL!

I suppose the mommy was the Boxer? LOL, I don't think it would have worked any other way!

He's not deaf, thank God. He was tested for both deafness and blindness.

The breeder he came from once had a dog that was deaf, and since that one she teaches all her dog sign language. Chico already knows sign language for "sit" and "stop". He does sit every time, stop he'll do when he feels like it, LOL!

I do think its a good idea to teach a dog sign language. You never know when you might need to communicate and can't with language. Its pretty easy, too, just add it in with language as you are training.
