Well, my fruit mincemeat is done. Got 5 qts out of what I had. It is a recipe for pear mincemeat, but I also put in apples and dried apricots and a few cranberries. I think it's just the spices that give it the mince flavor anyway. One darned jar didn't seal. It must be the jar, my DIL got them for me last year at a yard sale. It looked fine, but must have a small crack somewhere. Now I will ahve to make a pie, or hey, I can freeze it, that's a better idea! That's what I'll do. So I am pretty well set for pies for the winter. 16 qts. of apple pie filling and now 5 qts of mincemeat. Super!
