Every so often I use a damp Mr. Clean eraser on my green boards and that seems to keep the fuzzies away. When a couple of mine were new, they smelled like skunk so bad I couldn't keep them in the house. It was mid-winter, so I kept them out in the sun room until the odor subsided. Brought them in and washed them with dawn dish soap and not a problem since.
