Of course, after bragging about not having to pay sales tax, before we sold our home, we paid pretty high property taxes. However state governments need money to run the state, so whether they levy a sales tax, a property tax or any other kind of tax - we should realize that if we expect all the services we should be willing to pay the tax!!!
