Never though of using bathtub. I use lots of baby oil in spray bottle on my dry skin. So I took the oil to my cutting mat and lightly sprayed my old mat. Used scraps of batting to kinda polish & remove linty bits from mat. Let set for 1+ hours. Them washed it off using a micro fibre cloth & warm soapy water, twice. Sure looks renewed.
