Thanks to all for your suggestions. I'll certainly research them. I've tried the vinyl thimble, but not the leather one. The thimble ring fits but the needle slips. (Don't you just hate a cry-baby!) Promise not to laugh---I use colored electrical tape and tape mine on works great. It wears out or gets stretch from taking it on and off after a while, but I just put new on. My fingers are not thin but a medium is too small and a large is too big.
