I really like my yellow olfa serrated scissors. When i took classes from jeanna kimball (appliquer extraordinaire) she recommended the gingher blunt nose scissors for cutting away behind the applique pieces. Less chance of poking into thr applique part. I have larger and smaller ones. They look like little kid scissors but are really sharp. I think i bought the larger ones on ebay. I find myself using them a lot of the time. The exact name is safety point pocket scissors. They are great
