A while back I bought some material to make a CA King size quilt for my son and asked for your suggestions on a pattern to use. I thank all of you for input and have decided what pattern to make.

I really thought these materials called for something with movement, so I chose to modify the "Chinese Fans" quilt in the F&P Love of Quilting magazine from Mar/Apr 2010. It's a variation of Drunkard's Path, I believe. I think it will be great, and not too difficult as I am not piecing the "fan" in the middle -- only using the striped material. (Besides I need practice on curved piecing!)

This is the only block I have completed and will need to make 16 of the 24" blocks to complete the top (4 x 24" = 96" square plus borders should be big enough, don't you think?). I will be doing a couple of matching pillow cases also. Thanks for looking!
