Our LQS hosts a group of ladies that are making dog beds for the local humane society and using fabric scraps for stuffing. The LQS weekly online newsletter has a reminder from time to time for all sewers to cut their scraps into 2" squares or smaller and bring them into the shop.

We lost my dear mother last year and I 'inherited' her fabric stash, projects etc. and I knew Mom kept her leftovers thru the years but had no idea to what extent. I am still in the process of going thru all the rolled up fabric with a 'string' of the fabric tied around it from (I think) every project my mom ever did.

I have spent hours going thru scraps and trying to decide if there was enough of this or that to keep. I have taken in several sacks of scraps and will have several more and still have enough to make myself and my 5 siblings something special from Mom's scraps.
