I've been thinking of making one too. If I ever get to it I think I will quilt the
top to some muslin (no batting) then add a backing to make the case. That
way I can wash the cover without the seams fraying. I prefer to use French
seams for pillowcases and duvet covers. Makes it stronger and very
washable.
