my favorite iron which has been used non stop, daily for over 3 years now is a $12 black and decker i bought at walmart. the $139 fancy stupid iron i bought lasted about 3 months. my $12 iron stays hot, does not shut off on me...and works great!
AND, I NEVER EVER PUT WATER IN MY IRON! I KEEP A SPRAY BOTTLE ON MY IRONING BOARD AND SPRITZ MY FABRIC WHEN I WANT STEAM.
one iron tells you to use distilled water..the next one tells you to use tap water, the next one this then that...but it seems like they all start spitting, sputtering not reliable at all ... my spray bottle is always reliable!
