Sounds great and something to be proud of. I have a quilt that my grandmother started for my father in 1916. It was a 1 in square postage stamp trip around the world. He grew faster than she could piece, so she gave up. My aunt gave it to me in 1999 and I have started hand quilting it with polyester batting and poly coton on the back, and I don't like how it looks, so will take it out and redo it with cotton batting. Some of the thread is actually string she must have had to use when she was out of thread. Made do she said. Some of the reds are faded almost to pink now, and it has never been exposed to sun, she said it was just the way some colors did back then. It is a great treasure to me.
