NO NO NO on declawing, please!!!!! The way they do that is to remove the first finger joint. Changes the cat's personality. Wouldn't it change yours?

Get a scratching post that is tall enough that the grown kitten can stretch its full body length. I have several that are 5 feet or taller and that does the trick. No problems. Plus cats love to be up high.

This will work out for you! They're going to weedle their way into your heart and stay there. Get two - they keep each other company!
