What a gorgeous quilt. Thanks for sharing the pictures and the story. I am sure the quilt will be all the more precious because of the fact that it took so many loving hands to complete.

My grandmother made a beautiful quilt top for me about 20 years ago. The center squares were embroidered and set with stars pieced in every corner. My cousin said she would hand quilt it for me, and haven't seen or heard about my quilt since. She has remarried several times, and moved more than an entire page in my address book, so I am pretty sure I will never see my quilt again. I would give almost anything to have the top back, finished or not. My grandmother is 95 and very healthy for her age, but unable to do embroidery or quilt. She had completed enough tops for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. I was lucky enough to get the quilt tops for my sons and plan to have them quilted professionally just to make sure that they will have them to pass on to their children.
