Lovely area. My suggestions for you would be (if it fits) to put the couch against the window under the sloping ceiling, with the other easy chairs facing into that area. The table could then come out to the space opposite your sink and food prep area. Have storage units on wheels - even if they could fit inside the cupboards you speak of, and be wheeled out. Cork floor tiles mounted onto a hinged board could work for display area. I had one that looked like a picture on the wall when I was not using it, and it flipped down to transform into a display board when I needed the design wall. My father made it for me.
