For years I sewed for the public.The first thing I learned was DO NOT KEEP AN OPEN CUP OF COFFEE by the machine. When I need a break, I take a coffee break away from the machine. Helps the back also.
I do my charity quilts in stages, four or five at a time. First I piece them all, sandwich them, machine quilt them all (stitch in the ditch mostly) then bind them all This method helps me turn them out faster. I also lesson to Books on Tape while I work. I find it very relaxing
