Use a ruler the right size for the job if you've got one around. Also if you happen to have anything like Glad Press 'n Seal in the cupboard it works great in a pinch as a stand in for Invisigrip. Medium weight clear tablecloth plastic will also do the trick. If you need an instant fast fix, a little white glue with some salt or sugar will work and it's easy to clean off. Anything you can invent that will make the ruler a little bit sticky........
