I ruffled a piece of 1-1/2" fabric, snipped irregular snips on both sides. Sewed it right to the unbound sandwich edge - she wanted a ruffle instead of a binding. I had put a ruffle on the little wall hanging between the rose block and the sashing and then put on a binding
