First, I just want to say that is so sweet of you and she'll be so thankful for new scissors. I personally don't use scissors that often. most of the time I use my rotary cutter and mat. I do have Fiskars scissors that I love that are spring loaded and they cut through plenty of layers very precisely. I also have just a pair of cheap scissors to snip threads.
