In 1981..My first quilt was a pinwheel..the templates were cut from a cereal box. I decided to put a yellow blanket on for the back and then tied it. It was in purple and lavender calicoes.
I STILL have a stack of two tone purple pinwheels sitting on my ironing board! Only they were made with paper hst papers! I still like the look of pinwheels but have made many many lone star quilts once I learned about the greatest inventions on earth...rotary cutter, cutting mat & rulers.
