Johnette, I have a die cutter. I have used it. the biggest thing I have noticed is that I really have to figure how best to use and conserve my fabric. Some things are just better rotary cut than with the machine if you really like to utilize as much of the fabric as possible. As for the designs they have available...there are some really good ones and can lead to some truly unique and beautiful quilts. Cost is a big thing. I got mine second from a friend. They last , which is another quality....remember though even these blades can dull with too much paper going through. Nice thing is you can make templates as they will cut that. Make sure you will use the pieces versus the cost. You could check around and see if there is a crafter near you who is interested in reselling theirs....might be a better deal.
