For trimming and clipping, I have a pair of Gingher serrated scissors. One of the blades has little "teeth". This is supposed to (1) help keep the fabric from slipping and (2) help keep fabric from ravelling (the same principal as using pinking shears).

Karen Kay Buckley spoke at one of the guilds I belong to, and she recommends them.
