I am one also who is driven crazy by clutter. I am new to quilting, but since I started, I made a habit to clean and tidy up after every project, it is not hard for me since I only work on one project at a time. I clean and oil my sewing machine, change the needle, organize the scraps from the project and dust and clean.
It is a bit of work, but I enjoy organizing, and my sewing area (mostly) remains clutter free and inviting.
