August 1955, I believe. I have just found a site that says they have needle plate screws - I hope they will send overseas. Now I need to find out why my machine decided to try and sew by itself when I went to answer the door a little while back! Of course, I had neglected to pull out the plug, but then I have never had a machine decide to sew on its own, without my foot on the pedal. I suppose there is a wiring problem. That will be the next thing to investigate.
